Maize Series Poem 8 (1-11)

Multicoloured Maize

My fear of the mundane
has made me travel at the speed of light
with nerves of steel,
undaunted by normal folk.

Blue Maize

I am saving desperate women
on street corners,
alerting endangered victims to foul play,
playing a threatening dame in back alleys.

Maple Tree Angel

I lift the curse off you
that you will go under for giving
a kind word to the homeless still straggling
in the street with their blankets, come morning.
